I have been having fun creating an initial set of custom plant pots with a cute Tetris inspired design. The succulents and other things Susie has in and around the house here are in a wonderful array of vessels, many of which are interesting bowls with holes drilled and they look great all together. To supplement this it seemed cool to create some custom pots of various sorts and since she has been playing various block games on her phone lately and creating blocky designs in 3ds Max is super simply I went down that path willingly.

You can see some of the versions here, some even have plants in them already even. The idea was to keep the number of ‘floating’ blocks on the outside low to have less supports while still showing off those classic shapes. I experimented with different sizes of the blocks, the smaller ones are more like a texture and the chunky ones are extra cute. I also made the even more unique one with the ‘Susie’ and the love heart too. I did the models in 3ds Max using pretty simply polygon modelling, then going into Cura before printing on my Anycubic I3 Mega 3D printer. My various PLAs have printed beautifully, though I am having trouble with my ‘terracotta’, while it looks stunning the print has errors and I am getting feed issues so that is something to work on.

Keep an eye out for more, in the meantime here are some more pics of the pots and process plus a swarm of succulents…
