Procedurally generated graphics of various types often play a secondary role in the creation of a CG scene or animation. Often it is the finishing touches that these techniques bring that enliven things – smoke, debris, flames etc are some classic examples. I am fascinated by the idea of being able to generate forms, environments, characters and narrative – taking the procedurally generated content up to a grander level.

Before I explore those lofty heights, I think it is worth checking out these 4K intros from Scene.org as they show off some very groovy looking graphics using some groovy code. These winners are from a few years ago – but they are just so pretty. Like the screen savers and music player animations that were much more trendy a few years back…
